Built by a studio owner, for studio owners.
I’m Melanie, founder of Williamsburg Music Studio in Brooklyn. After 12 years of running a thriving school, I kept running into the same challenge:
Families wanted a program for their 4–5 year olds, but starting them in private lessons made it hard to later transition them into group lessons. The flow just didn’t work.
So I created Piano Playground — a group piano program built specifically for preschoolers, designed to feed seamlessly into our older group classes. Drawing on my years of experience with this age, I built a curriculum that’s playful, structured, and proven to work.

"Piano Playground gave us the missing piece for our youngest students.
We wanted a real on-ramp for our preschool and early elementary inquiries instead of turning families away or placing them into Piano Express before they were ready. Now we have a program that naturally feeds into Piano Express and gives families a clear next step.
The students have loved it. The variety of activities, singing, movement, and animated videos keep them engaged, and I'm consistently impressed by their focus. During trial lessons, parents often comment that they're surprised how attentive their child is throughout class.
One unexpected benefit has been how much easier conversations with parents have become. Instead of explaining why a child is too young for traditional lessons, we can confidently offer a program designed specifically for their age. Parents immediately understand the value when they see a trial class.
It's still early to measure long-term enrollment since many of our inquiries are for the fall, but as a business owner I already see the value. We're no longer missing out on younger students, and as a teacher, I have a curriculum that keeps kids engaged, learning, and excited to come back.
I'd absolutely recommend Piano Playground. It opens the door to families we previously couldn't serve while giving young students a structured, engaging first experience at the piano.”
